Serving the School and Community
During the 2014-2015 school year, the Green High School chapter of the National Honor Society registered a record year in terms of school and community service. Collectively, our members performed an incredible 1,800 hours of individual service projects throughout the community and, as a chapter, we performed just over 700 hours of service to the school and community. Adding the number of hours together means that the average National Honor Society member performed 35 hours of service during this school year. Individual service projects ranged from coaching youth sports teams, to peer tutoring, to volunteering in the pharmacy at Akron Children's Hospital, and serving in various capacities at local churches.
As a chapter, we volunteered at the City of Green's Trick or Treat Trail, visited local nursing homes during the holiday season, assisted in hosting the annual Veteran's Day program at the high school, working at the Green Intermediate School Carnival, cleaning up the Metroparks, and hosting the annual Senior Citizens Social to name a few.
Congrats to our members for their service to the school and community!
